A ceramic coating bonds to the paint and leaves a hard, water-repellent layer. Rain beads and runs off, taking dirt with it, and the paint is better protected from UV fading and light chemical attack.
It is not armour. It will not stop a stone chip or a key scratch, and any product promising that is overselling.
Is it worth it?
It makes most sense on a car you intend to keep and keep clean, and it is best applied to paint that is already in good condition — coating over neglected paint just seals in the defects.
Preparation is most of the job, which is why a proper coating costs more than a valet and takes considerably longer.

A professionally applied coating typically lasts two to five years depending on the product and how the car is washed and stored.
Is ceramic coating better than wax?
It lasts far longer. Wax gives a warm shine for weeks; a ceramic coating protects for years, but costs more and needs proper preparation.

Preparation and curing need suitable conditions, so tell us where the car will be and we will confirm whether it can be done on site.
